During the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, Lin Li, Executive Director and Vice President of Agricultural Bank Of China Limited, highlighted that retail operations remain the strategic cornerstone of the bank's business, playing a pivotal role in its overall development. In the first half of the year, the bank focused on delivering financial services to support domestic demand expansion and consumption stimulation, advancing high-quality retail growth and providing clients with more professional, intelligent, and customer-centric services. Lin emphasized that strengthening the retail sector is vital for the bank's sustainable and high-caliber development.
Looking ahead, Lin stated that the bank will intensify its transformation into a service-oriented and value-driven institution, with retail operations advancing across four key priorities. The first priority is to solidify the moat of its 900 million customer base and reinforce the inclusive finance foundation by expanding offerings in pension finance, rural revitalization lending, and inclusive services for micro and small enterprises.
The second focus is on building robust consumer finance capabilities to ignite a new engine for domestic demand, including broadening third-party payment scenarios and refining personal credit product distribution. The third priority centers on safeguarding its asset under management pool exceeding 25 trillion yuan by establishing a benchmark in wealth management, leveraging the "ABC Wealth" brand to enhance product innovation, service differentiation, and digital capabilities while extending wealth services to county-level markets.
Finally, the bank aims to deepen its network of 23,000 physical branches to enrich everyday life for clients, establishing three distinct retail operational tracks while ensuring rigorous consumer protection standards are upheld across all touchpoints.
