US Closing Bell04:06

October 27, U.S. stocks closed higher as a burst of enthusiasm for artificial-intelligence chips and electric vehicles offset lingering rate worries. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.28%, the S&P 500 climbed 0.70%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.82%. Traders cited upbeat semiconductor demand forecasts and cooling Treasury yields for the positive tone, helping the major indexes notch a third straight gain.

Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares jumps 8.31%, optical-network specialist Lumentum rallies 8.19% on a bullish sales outlook, Bloom Energy climbs 5.49% after announcing a large fuel-cell contract, and Tesla rises 5.21% as new production figures impressed investors. Intel gains 4.09% on fresh AI chip orders, Micron Technology adds 2.98% after a brokerage upgrade, Advanced Micro Devices improves 2.80% on data-center momentum, NVIDIA advances 2.40%, and Broadcom lifts 2.33% amid steady hyperscale demand.

Elsewhere, a handful of high-profile names lagged. Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bear 3x Shares falls 8.54% as short bets reverse, MercadoLibre drops 7.81% on softer Latin-American e-commerce guidance, Circle Internet slides 7.07% alongside a pullback in crypto prices, Netflix declines 2.96% as competition concerns resurface, while Alphabet’s Class C shares ease 0.97% following a modest ad-revenue miss.
