JPMorgan Chase & Co. has appointed two senior bankers as co-heads of its investment banking business for Southeast Asia, with the appointments effective immediately.
A bank spokesperson confirmed on June 24 that Kelvin Goh, head of financial institutions for the Asia-Pacific region, and Alfons Halim, head of real estate investment banking for Asia-Pacific, will take on the additional roles as co-heads of investment banking for Southeast Asia while retaining their current positions. Both will be based in Singapore.
The personnel move follows the transfer of the current head of Southeast Asia investment banking, Vineet Mishra, from Singapore to London, where he will take on a senior role in JPMorgan's private capital advisory and solutions team for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region.
Mishra, who joined JPMorgan in 2011, has led the Southeast Asia investment banking team for the past five years. In his new role, he will be responsible for originating and executing transactions while providing support for the broader business.
Goh joined JPMorgan in 2022 to lead its financial institutions business in Asia-Pacific, having previously worked at Citigroup. Halim has been leading the bank's real estate business since 2024.
The new appointments allow both executives to retain their existing roles while guiding the strategic direction of the regional advisory business.
The bank's spokesperson stated that the two will jointly oversee this region, which the bank considers strategically important, leveraging their professional expertise and client relationships.
According to data released by the London Stock Exchange Group in January, JPMorgan ranked second in equity capital markets underwriting and third in merger and acquisition activity for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) in 2025.
