Reports from the 2026 Chongqing International Auto Show indicate that Tesla Motors has made an appearance at the event.

The company showcased several of its vehicle models, including the Model 3 and Model Y.

Also present at the display was a version of the Tesla Optimus humanoid robot.

Observations from the show floor noted that the exhibited robot lacked a distinct metallic sheen and had a texture resembling hard plastic to the touch.

Furthermore, no visible charging port was apparent on the rear of the unit.

Attendees were seen gathering around the display to take photographs of the robot.

When questioned about the exhibit, personnel at the Tesla booth clarified that the actual, functional robot was not present at the event, describing the displayed Optimus unit as a non-functional model.

Public information states that the operational version of the Optimus robot shares core technology with Tesla's electric vehicles, utilizing common hardware, training clusters, and end-to-end neural networks to apply its artificial intelligence across different scenarios.
