Stock News12-01

On Monday, NetEase (NTES.US) surged over 5% to $145.20. The rally follows recent news that the China Society of Image and Graphics announced the winners of its 2025 Science and Technology Awards. A joint project by NetEase (Hangzhou) Network Co., Tianjin University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and the 17th Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation won the top prize in the "Science and Technology Progress Award" category.

The project, titled "Key Technologies and Applications of Reinforcement Learning-Based Intelligent Decision-Making," achieved breakthroughs in AI and image graphics applications. NetEase's flagship game "Justice Online" served as a key implementation platform, becoming the industry's first to deeply integrate AI with gameplay systems through its "Smart NPC" technology, enabling natural language interaction and contextual behavioral decisions.

At the 2025 Yunqi Conference's AI forum, Liu Chang, NetEase's AI lead for "Justice Online," detailed the game's AI innovations, drawing significant attention.

Separately, NetEase's global release of "Where Winds Meet" on November 15 saw strong traction, with the overseas version surpassing 500,000 players within 40 minutes across Steam, PlayStation, and Epic. The game peaked at over 140,000 concurrent Steam users. Huatai Securities noted the title's overseas expansion exceeded expectations, with accelerated long-term revenue potential.
