Guangxi-Guangdong Digital Agri-Tourism Initiative Bears Fruit: Baise Explores a "Shared Prosperity" Path for Rural Revitalization

Deep News11-24

The annual review conference for the "Shared Prosperity Villages – Guangxi-Guangdong Digital Agri-Tourism Initiative" Baise Special Action was recently held in Baise, Guangxi. Through this initiative, the rural CEO team of Neijiang Village in Baise has generated a collective income of 700,000 yuan and distributed dividends, while creating over 40 jobs. Neijiang Village is just one example—since the program's launch, systematic training for rural business entities and talent in Baise has led to dividends of approximately 3.17 million yuan, directly benefiting 719 households and nearly 3,000 villagers. These achievements provide replicable insights for Guangxi-Guangdong collaboration and rural revitalization.

The initiative is guided by the Guangxi-Guangdong Cooperation Task Force, co-organized by the Baise Municipal Government, TENCENT's Sustainable Social Value (SSV) division, and the Shared Prosperity Villages Co-Creation Base, with support from the Baise Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and the Guangxi Innovation Industry Investment Promotion Association. The pilot program, spanning from October 2024 to October 2025, focuses on digital empowerment to activate rural development potential.

Yu Ming, Deputy Head of the Guangxi-Guangdong Cooperation Task Force, emphasized that the initiative systematically promotes farmer-centered profit-sharing mechanisms, enhances local cadres' capabilities, and develops agri-tourism IPs by integrating online and offline resources. He expressed hopes for deeper collaboration with TENCENT and rural tourism partners to expand digital agri-tourism integration.

Dai Xiuhui, Senior Project Manager of TENCENT SSV’s Village Development Lab, presented the 2025 results report, highlighting a structured approach combining "mechanisms + talent + digitalization." Key efforts include training rural cadres, establishing farmer-led profit-sharing models, and fostering rural CEOs to manage local operations. Additionally, the initiative upgraded agri-tourism products, developed themed travel routes, and introduced digital tools like WeChat Mini Programs for tourism promotion.

During the event, the "Explore Baise" cloud service mini-program and digital agri-tourism maps were launched. Exemplary villages, such as Neijiang Village and Zhebai Village, were awarded for innovation, digital operations, and talent cultivation.

A subsequent field visit to Haokun Village in Lingyun County and a sustainability salon explored topics like "WeChat e-commerce boosting agri-tourism" and "collaborative rural CEO development." Future plans include integrating cultural resources across multiple villages in Tianyang District to create new tourism models.

Stakeholders aim to further deepen digital agri-tourism integration, cultivating a skilled rural revitalization workforce to sustain shared prosperity in Baise and beyond.
