According to an individual with knowledge of the matter, Anthropic PBC has entered into a substantial $35 billion computing infrastructure agreement with Lambda, a cloud services provider supported by NVIDIA.

The source, who requested anonymity as the discussions are private, stated that infrastructure firm Hut 8 is developing the data center project in Texas associated with this deal. Earlier media reports indicated that NVIDIA would hold the lease for this data center facility located in Nueces County, Texas.

This transaction represents the latest in a series of AI computing agreements linked to NVIDIA. As the world's most valuable company, the leading AI chip supplier has been leveraging its considerable financial strength to broaden access to computing infrastructure, which in turn drives demand for its technologies.

Meanwhile, Anthropic has emerged as one of the most significant clients for data center capacity. The developer of the Claude chatbot recently committed $45 billion to lease AI computing power from Nscale's primary data center project in West Virginia. In recent months, the company has also signed $50 billion in compute agreements with emerging cloud provider Fluidstack Ltd. and secured a $45 billion computing deal with Elon Musk's SpaceX.

A representative for Anthropic declined to comment on the matter. NVIDIA, Lambda, and Hut 8 did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to last week's media reports, Lambda is in talks to raise up to $3 billion in financing. Individuals familiar with the situation indicated that the company has discussed valuations of $12 billion or higher.
