Venezuela's Acting President Delcy Rodríguez announced in a televised address that the country's first export of natural gas will set sail within hours. The vessel tasked with the shipment is already docked at a Venezuelan port.
Rodríguez confirmed that she had spoken earlier on Thursday local time with U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. "Important steps are being taken," she stated, referring to the opening of airspace.
Venezuela is currently hosting discussions with several multinational oil companies; Rodríguez mentioned that one from Indonesia was present today. Rodríguez welcomed the unanimous approval of the hydrocarbons law reform.
"This law enables us to achieve a truly historic qualitative leap, transforming these oil reserves—the largest on the planet—into the greatest well-being on Earth, a well-being to which Venezuelans are the rightful heirs."
