Chevron Enters Five-Year Natural Gas Supply Agreement with Alinta Energy

Chevron Australia announced on Friday that it has entered into a long-term agreement to supply natural gas from its Western Australian portfolio to energy retailer Alinta Energy.

The company stated it will supply 46 petajoules of natural gas over a five-year period starting in July 2027 to its long-standing partner, Alinta Energy. The gas will be sourced from the company's interests in the Chevron-operated Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities, as well as the North West Shelf Project.

"Nearly a decade after start-up, Gorgon and Wheatstone have become pillars of the state's energy security, together providing around 40% of Western Australia's domestic gas supply," said Balaji Krishnamurthy, President of Chevron Australia, in a press release.

Singapore's Sembcorp Industries acquired Australian gas and power supplier Alinta Energy last year for an enterprise value of A$6.5 billion (US$4.32 billion).
