US Director of National Intelligence and head of AI affairs Jay Clayton has stated that the AI task force's recommendations on responsible AI development will be released "soon."
In an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, when asked when the recommendations on AI would be put forward, Clayton said, "We will roll them out over time," though he added that he could not commit to an exact date.
On October 16, the Trump administration's newly established AI special task force held its first meeting, establishing an operational framework and launching several specific working mechanisms. The task force's official operating period is set at 120 days.
The task force is led by Jay Clayton, with core members including Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, and Department of Defense technology chief Emil Michael.
At the first meeting, the task force established the division of responsibilities for three specialized committees: the Reporting and Response Committee led by Michael, the Critical Infrastructure Committee headed by Kupor, and the Enforcement and Accountability Committee led by Ferguson.
Additionally, reports on AI's impact on the workforce and the economy will be submitted to the Department of Labor.
