On November 3, a financial news report stated that CITIC Bank (ASX: 601998) held its 2026 third-quarter earnings briefing today.
The head of the Corporate Finance Department noted that current financing demand from the real economy shows characteristics of overall pressure and structural divergence. Demand in traditional sectors is relatively weak, but many new financing opportunities continue to emerge in industrial upgrading and emerging tracks.
The official stated that against this external environment, since the beginning of this year, CITIC Bank (ASX: 00998) has offset overall volume pressure through structural optimization in corporate credit deployment, and consolidated its growth foundation through structural stability, not pursuing scale-driven expansion for its own sake, but adhering to quality first and seeking progress while maintaining stability.
The official pointed out that in the next stage, CITIC Bank (ASX: 601998) will carry out corporate business work from the following three aspects.
First, CITIC Bank (ASX: 00998) will formulate in advance the corporate credit asset allocation strategy for 2027, focusing on key areas of the real economy such as the five major articles, key industries such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence, key scenarios such as the capital market and cross-border supply chains, and key regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Bay Area, and Chengdu-Chongqing, clarifying detailed credit policy strategies and implementation plans for 2027. The plan is currently under study.
Second, CITIC Bank (ASX: 601998) will continue to strengthen the expansion of high-quality small and medium-sized real-economy borrowers with loans, effectively smoothing fluctuations from top-tier large clients and single industries, continuously enriching its client echelon, optimizing its client structure, and accumulating momentum for long-term development.
Third, CITIC Bank (ASX: 00998) will accelerate its digital and intelligent transformation, embedding artificial intelligence tools into the marketing, project assessment, and risk control processes for corporate credit clients to improve efficiency and risk control levels. At the same time, CITIC Bank (ASX: 601998) will continue to leverage the synergy advantages of CITIC Group to provide credit clients with integrated comprehensive financing services covering equity, debt, lending, insurance, leasing, and custody, building the differentiated competitiveness of CITIC's corporate business.
