Galaxy Entertainment (00027) rose more than 3%. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 2.92%, trading at HK$43.7, with a turnover of HK$206 million. Market reports indicate that the President of the Macau Travel Industry Council, Hu Jingguang, recently projected that Macau would see average daily visitor numbers of approximately 160,000 to 170,000 during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday. Hu also noted that current hotel booking rates in Macau have already exceeded 90%. Visitors can still book rooms for around MOP 1,000 to MOP 2,000 per night, while room rates at international star-rated hotels in Cotai are even higher, reaching MOP 3,000 to MOP 4,000. In response to inquiries, Galaxy Entertainment stated that demand across its resorts during the holiday period is strong, with hotel room bookings nearly full and significant demand for restaurant reservations. Benefiting from the extended holiday and the increase in visitor numbers to Macau, the company anticipates hotel room rates and overall customer spending this year will show steady growth compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, it is expected that visitor volume will remain robust throughout the holiday. The group is optimistic that the extended Lunar New Year holiday and rising tourist numbers will strongly drive steady growth in gaming revenue and is confident this will contribute positively to its overall business performance.
