Value investor Duan Yongping said on the Xueqiu platform on September 11 that he welcomes others shorting his stocks and never restricts shares from being lent out for short selling.
Responding to a user who asked whether Duan, who said he plans to hold Pop Mart (HK: 9992) for the long term, would allow a small portion of his holdings to be borrowed for short sales to collect lending fees, Duan replied: "I very much welcome anyone to take over my stocks for shorting, so I have never imposed restrictions."
Duan, a prominent Chinese investor known for founding BBK Electronics and successful bets on companies like NetEase and Apple, did not specify which stocks his remarks applied to. His stance reflects his consistent open attitude toward short selling.
