Shenzhen Airport Port Sees Record Passenger Traffic in 2023, Visa-Free Entries Surge

As of November 2, the number of inbound and outbound passengers at Shenzhen Airport Port has exceeded 5.5 million this year, surpassing the total for all of 2022. This marks a 23.5% year-on-year increase and sets a new historical record for the same period.

China currently maintains mutual visa exemptions with 29 countries, offers unilateral visa-free entry to travelers from 47 nations, and provides a 144-hour transit visa waiver for visitors from 55 countries. The introduction of policies such as visa exemptions, tax refunds for overseas visitors, and electronic payments has significantly boosted international travel demand.

Shenzhen Airport Immigration Inspection Station has processed nearly 1.24 million foreign travelers this year, up 44.4% compared to the previous year. Among these, visa-free entries accounted for nearly 60% of total foreign arrivals, surging 136.8% year-on-year. The majority of these travelers came from Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.
