Deep News07-16

Following the announcement of a record-breaking strong financial report, Goldman Sachs Group launched a global bond issuance blitz over approximately 24 hours, raising a total equivalent of over $15 billion.

After completing the pricing of a $10 billion bond issuance in the United States on Tuesday, the Wall Street bank raised €5 billion ($5.7 billion) on Wednesday through a three-tranche bond offering.

This debt issuance follows a period where Goldman Sachs' equity trading business revenue shattered its own Wall Street record, reaching quarterly revenue of $7.42 billion. The revenue from just the past three months exceeded the total from all four quarters of that business in 2019.

According to data analysis, following the completion of Wednesday's issuance, Goldman Sachs has become the largest financial institution borrower in the European bond market this year.
