According to a report from the Iranian Students' News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated in a declaration that two oil tankers, which were attempting to traverse the Strait of Hormuz via a "dangerous" southern route, caught fire and were intercepted early Tuesday following explosions.
The declaration noted that rescue personnel assisted in evacuating crew members from the vessels.
