Hua Chenyu: Using Music to "Grow Together" with Youth

Deep News01-06

On the evening of January 2nd, the Guangxi Sports Center Stadium was brilliantly lit for Hua Chenyu's Mars Concert in Nanning. The concert gathered fans from all corners of the country, and Hua Chenyu performed multiple songs, including "好想爱这个世界啊" (I Really Want to Love This World), which convey a youthful attitude. "I've always believed that the most wonderful thing about music is its ability to create a sanctuary for the soul, even if it only lasts for a little over three hours," Hua Chenyu stated in an interview. He expressed that for today's young people, the pressures of growing up are unavoidable, as everyone faces a fast-paced life and high expectations. The Nanning stop of his Mars Concert aimed to communicate a youthful philosophy of "seeking inward and growing outward" through music.

As a public figure who influences many young people, Hua Chenyu mentioned that whenever he holds a concert in a new city, he integrates local cultural characteristics into the stage performance, hoping to allow more people to experience the charm of traditional culture. Annually, he also establishes a Mars Reward Plan for students, inviting those taking the national college entrance exams who are pursuing their dreams to attend his concerts, aiming to positively influence more people with this gesture.

In Hua Chenyu's view, a healthy relationship between an artist and their fans should be one that maintains "a warm and comfortable distance, like family members progressing together." Both parties strive in their own worlds while providing mutual spiritual support. "I hope for a two-way companionship and trust between us: everyone encourages me to persist on my musical path, and I, along with my music, can become a faint guiding light in my fans' life journeys," he reflected. "We illuminate each other and grow together."
