Anhui Targets Over Ten Thousand AI Applications by End of "Fifteenth Five-Year" Plan

Deep News05-15

Official information from Anhui province indicates that by the conclusion of the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the region aims to deploy more than ten thousand artificial intelligence applications. The penetration rate for next-generation smart terminals and intelligent agents is projected to exceed 90%.

During a press conference focused on Anhui's "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" launch, Zhao Ming, the Director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology, detailed the province's strategic initiatives for cultivating the AI industry.

Since the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Anhui has actively developed its AI sector. The province has implemented a three-year plan and supportive policies for general artificial intelligence, issued an "AI+" action plan, and secured approval to establish major national platforms, including an AI pilot testing base and a data annotation base. It has also constructed China's first domestically-produced 10,000-card computing power cluster and pioneered a "unveiling the list and assigning the leader" model for AI scenario innovation.

To date, Anhui is home to over a thousand large-scale enterprises in the AI field, with annual revenue surpassing 200 billion yuan.

Looking ahead to the "Fifteenth Five-Year" period, Anhui will concentrate on advancing breakthroughs in key core technologies within frontier domains. The province plans to foster synergistic development between AI and other scientific innovation hubs, such as quantum information and fusion energy, aiming to establish a center for scientific intelligent matter creation. Efforts will be made to evolve AI from a tool for empowerment towards deep application and systematic development, exploring new models like computing-power-electricity coordination and computing power enclaves, while cultivating "Data Huishang" entities.

In terms of application scenarios, Anhui will accelerate the integration of AI across all industries, developing end-products like intelligent connected vehicles and smart robots, and strategically investing in future industries such as embodied AI and brain-computer interfaces. The province will also deepen the integration of government, industry, academia, research, finance, application, and services, strengthen the Yangtze River Delta Security AI Provincial Laboratory, and successfully operate China's first undergraduate program in "Commercial Artificial Intelligence."
