To strengthen cybersecurity awareness among young people and promote responsible internet habits, the Huangdun Town New Era Civilization Practice Center, together with the town's Women's Federation, organized a special educational session at the town's Central School on September 16. This activity was part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Week, bringing essential online safety lessons directly into the classroom.
During the event, volunteers delivered a presentation tailored to the online habits of elementary school students. Using accessible language, they covered key topics such as the advantages and disadvantages of the internet, the importance of protecting personal information, how to guard against online fraud, and strategies for rejecting online rumors. The volunteers also provided detailed explanations of the hidden safety risks that young users may encounter during their daily online activities.
The program also incorporated content related to anti-pornography and anti-illegal publication efforts. Students were guided to steer clear of harmful online content, resist illicit publications, and avoid vulgar internet material, with the goal of fostering a civilized and healthy approach to internet use.
Concluding the session, all students recited the "National Youth Internet Civilization Convention" together, pledging with conviction to internalize the principles of responsible online behavior. Volunteers also distributed cybersecurity informational booklets, which the students carefully reviewed to further solidify the knowledge they had gained in class.
This campus outreach initiative provided students with a systematic understanding of essential online safety techniques, effectively boosting their ability to identify online threats and protect themselves in the digital world. Moving forward, the town intends to persist with cybersecurity education campaigns and strengthen protective measures to help safeguard minors' online well-being.
