NCI Executive Outlines Four-Pronged AI Strategy to Forge Competitive Edge

Deep News03-30

At its 2025 annual results conference held today, New China Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NCI) highlighted the significant efficiency gains driven by AI over the past year. Vice President Qin Hongbo stated that these improvements were evident in three key areas: leveraging AI to better understand clients, reshaping operational workflows, and strengthening risk control measures to uphold the company's risk management standards.

Qin Hongbo outlined that in 2026, NCI will focus on four strategic areas to solidify AI as a core competitive advantage for the company's development.

In terms of technology governance, NCI will rely on its digital committee to fully implement the broader technology initiatives outlined in the "15th Five-Year Plan," deepening a new dual-driven technology governance framework.

Regarding the expansion of AI applications, the company plans to develop seven types of digital employees covering high-frequency domains such as training, customer service, group insurance, claims, policy services, office operations, and investment advisory. Through the collaboration of large and small AI models, NCI aims to achieve digital productivity efficiency gains equivalent to over 3,000 full-time employees, embodying the principle of "letting robots handle robotic tasks, allowing employees to focus on higher-value work."

The third focus is on deeply mining data value. NCI will comprehensively build a new big data architecture described as "one foundation, two platforms, five data marts," transforming data from merely visible to effectively usable, thereby establishing it as a core asset driving business growth.

Lastly, the company will strengthen its digital infrastructure by forming a new "one cloud, multiple stars" architecture. This will enable pooled management and elastic scheduling of computing, storage, computing power, and network resources, ensuring business continuity.

Qin Hongbo emphasized that with the advent of the AI era, technological empowerment has permeated every aspect of NCI's business and management operations, becoming a core engine for the company's high-quality development. NCI will maintain strategic focus, investing in both people and technology, and under the guidance of its new technology plan, strive to maximize AI's effectiveness within the company.
