Vertiv Plunges Nearly 9% in Pre-market as Q2 Revenue Miss Offsets EPS Beat and Raised Guidance

Stock Track07-29

Vertiv Holdings LLC (VRT) experienced a sharp pre-market decline of 8.7% on Wednesday, following the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results. The drop came despite the company reporting strong earnings per share and raising its full-year outlook, as investors zeroed in on a disappointing revenue figure.

Vertiv reported Q2 revenue of $3.274 billion, which fell short of the IBES estimate of $3.377 billion. On the bottom line, adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.52, surpassing the consensus estimate of $1.42, while GAAP EPS of $1.27 also exceeded the $1.24 forecast. The company also raised its full-year 2026 guidance across all key metrics, and provided a Q3 adjusted operating margin outlook of 24-25%.

The revenue miss, however, appeared to overshadow the earnings beat and the improved guidance, triggering a sell-off in pre-market trading. The stock had already been under pressure in recent sessions amid uncertainty ahead of the earnings announcement, and the topline shortfall further weighed on investor sentiment.
