Recent construction on the Yichang Three Gorges Port Railway project has reached a new milestone with the completion of the Jiangnan Fourth Road Medium Bridge at Yichang South Station. This marks the full conclusion of the extension culvert project at the station. The project, located in Dianjun District, Yichang City, Hubei Province, spans a total length of 11.99 kilometers and includes eight bridges, three tunnels, and one station yard, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 86%. Yichang South Station, an existing intermediate station on the Yichang-Wanzhou Railway, features a subgrade engineering section stretching 2.12 kilometers, with the Jiangnan Fourth Road Medium Bridge being a critical component of the extension works. Throughout the construction phase, the project team strictly adhered to the operational line management regulations of the Wuhan Railway Bureau, detailed nodal objectives, and optimized construction organization. By obtaining approval for specialized plans ahead of schedule and implementing a daily work reporting system, the team efficiently advanced construction while ensuring absolute safety for railway operations. As a key infrastructure project designed to enhance the comprehensive transportation system of the Yangtze River Three Gorges area, establish a water-rail intermodal system for the Three Gorges Logistics Center, and extend the coverage of the national railway network, the project's completion will significantly expand the reach of the national rail network and play a vital political and economic role in alleviating bottlenecks in Yangtze River shipping.
