China Mobile Reports Half-Year Net Profit of 78.9 Billion Yuan, Down 6.3% Year-on-Year

China Mobile Limited (600941.SH) has released its semi-annual report for the fiscal year 2026, revealing a drop in net profit for the first half of the year.

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, the company reported total operating revenue of 538.035 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.1% compared to the same period last year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company stood at 78.934 billion yuan, marking a 6.3% decline. Excluding non-recurring gains and losses, net profit attributable to shareholders was 69.733 billion yuan, down 11.0%. Basic earnings per share reached 3.64 yuan. The board has declared an interim dividend of 2.51 yuan per share (including tax) for the first half of 2026.

Revenue from telecommunications services declined 5.7% year-on-year to 350.4 billion yuan. The company's mobile customer base grew by 5.88 million to reach 1.011 billion, while 5G network customers increased by 44.74 million to 687 million. Mobile data traffic saw a 16.0% year-on-year increase, with a notable acceleration in growth rate. Broadband internet customers rose by 7.70 million to 337 million, and IoT card connections expanded by 29.58 million to 1.511 billion.

In the first half, revenue from computing services reached 52.9 billion yuan, a 14% year-on-year increase. The company's mobile cloud, China Mobile Cloud, has strengthened its market presence, with its public cloud revenue scale entering the top three in the domestic industry for the first time. Data center revenue climbed 13.2% to 19 billion yuan, with AI data center (AIDC) revenue surging 486.1% year-on-year, supported by enhanced core capabilities in agile delivery, computing-power coordination, and high-level operations. Intelligent computing service revenue grew 130.1% to 5.3 billion yuan, contributing 46.1% of the total revenue growth from computing services. Revenue from cloud-based computing applications increased 5.9%, with mobile cloud disk revenue up 14.1%.

Revenue from intelligent services reached 49.3 billion yuan in the first half, up 0.9% year-on-year. Data and algorithm revenue grew 6.9%, while digital-intelligence cultural revenue rose 12.5%. During the World Cup, the Migu Video AI-powered smart viewing feature was used by 360 million people. The mobile e-commerce platform, Mobile Aigou, achieved nearly 83 million monthly active customers. The "Mobile Tiangong" industrial internet platform now serves 327,000 enterprise customers.

International market revenue grew 30.1% year-on-year to 18.2 billion yuan. The company continues to expand its global resource capabilities, now operating 463 POP points and international transmission capacity of 437 Tbps. Cross-border and global operations have deepened, with inbound roaming traffic volume increasing 59.9% and the number of Chinese enterprises served for overseas expansion growing 19.6% compared to the end of the previous year.
