From Digital Expansion to Intelligent Manufacturing: Charting Nanning's Open Economy Development

Deep News05-17 17:31

Currently, Nanning is thoroughly implementing the national strategy for high-level opening-up, leveraging its status as the permanent host of the China-ASEAN Expo. It is seizing opportunities presented by multiple overlapping national strategies, including the Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone (Nanning Area) and the China Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, to accelerate the transition from a "corridor economy" to a "hub economy."

In the Wuxiang New District, AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) technology is exporting "Nanning stories" to ASEAN nations. In cross-border e-commerce livestreaming rooms, hosts promote products in Vietnamese and Thai. In Wuming District, high-quality limestone has set sail for Southeast Asia for the first time... Nanning is using technology as a link and industry as the core to write a new chapter of two-way, open development.

Short-Form Drama Expansion: AIGC Bridges China-ASEAN "Cultural Ties" At Nanning Peak Culture Communication Co., Ltd. (hereafter Peak Culture) located in the Wuxiang New District, the clatter of keyboards blends with the low hum of servers, composing a unique "overture to global expansion." Technicians input a creative text into the "Ju Xiaobai" short-form drama platform, and within 30 minutes, a complete short drama with exquisite visuals and a coherent plot is automatically generated. Unlike the bustle of traditional film production, here there is only the "silent dialogue" of algorithms and data.

"In the past, filming required building sets and selecting actors. Now, it relies on algorithms and data," explained Huang Hejian, head of the technology department at Peak Culture. The company's self-developed "Ju Xiaobai" platform uses proprietary algorithms to extract script elements as "vector data," integrating five core modules including script generation, character design, and storyboard drawing. This achieves automated production from concept to final product, reducing the production cost per short drama by over 90%.

The rapid development of AI technology is facilitating the mass production of short dramas. In the first quarter of this year, Peak Culture signed an agreement with Vietnam Digital Entertainment Group (VDEG) to co-develop a Vietnamese version of "Ju Xiaobai," marking a leap for Guangxi's AIGC enterprises from "riding on others' ships" to "building their own ships for overseas ventures."

"This cooperation is not a simple export of software tools but a deep ecosystem co-construction," stated Jiang Linfeng, General Manager of Peak Culture. The "Ju Xiaobai" platform has been deeply adapted for Vietnamese speech synthesis, local cultural aesthetics, and legal regulations. It also assists the Vietnamese partner in building a localized AIGC vector database containing digital assets of historical and cultural "temporal slices."

Simultaneously, Peak Culture has partnered with Runjian Co., Ltd. to bundle and export domestic computing power resources, forming an integrated "computing power + platform + content" solution and an upstream-downstream collaborative expansion model. Through the "Ju Xiaobai" application software, combined with data and content, it has opened a pathway for the implementation of domestic computing power and large language models.

The "Ju Xiaobai" platform is currently operating at a capacity of 50 short dramas per month. Next, Peak Culture plans to increase capacity to 300 dramas per month. This will allow elements of Guangxi's ethnic culture and beautiful landscapes to become popular scene-based short dramas for overseas audiences via AI technology, making "Made in Nanning" short dramas a bright name card for China-ASEAN digital content cooperation.

Smooth Trade: AI Empowers Cross-Border E-Commerce's "Accelerated Run" At the Guangxi ASEAN Cross-Border E-Commerce Headquarters Base, electronic screens display real-time order data from Vietnam and Thailand. Staff simultaneously handle full-process business including logistics clearance, foreign exchange collection, and settlement, helping Nanning products set sail for global markets.

"The base has conducted nearly a hundred cross-border training sessions covering topics such as ASEAN market access rules, e-commerce operation models, overseas customer acquisition, overseas warehouse layout, as well as foreign exchange collection, settlement, and tax compliance. This provides systematic, customized, and professional guidance and assistance for enterprises going global," introduced Bai Bing, General Manager of the Guangxi ASEAN Cross-Border E-Commerce Headquarters Base.

As the digital economy deeply integrates with cross-border e-commerce, AI technology becomes the core competitiveness for brand globalization. The base focuses on core areas like AI + cross-border livestreaming, multilingual digital avatar livestreaming, and cross-border marketing technical services. It is building a full-chain AI + cross-border marketing technical service system covering multilingual livestreaming, digital avatar cloning, intelligent sales scripts, risk control compliance, and multi-platform broadcasting. This comprehensively fills the gap in Nanning's local enterprises' access to cross-border livestreaming digital services for the ASEAN and global markets, providing one-stop technical support and operational guarantees for enterprises expanding overseas, brand globalization, and cross-border sales.

Industrial Upgrading: "Small Stone" Makes Maiden Voyage into "Big Market" If the digital economy is the "light cavalry" of Nanning's opening-up, then the transformation and upgrading of the real economy is the "main force." Recently, at the Fangchenggang Port, a loud ship's whistle pierced the sky as a cargo vessel loaded with 81,800 tons of high-quality limestone slowly departed on its maiden voyage for export to Southeast Asia. This marks the breakthrough of zero foreign trade exports for the Wuming Longmeng Mountain mining area, owned by Guangxi Huana Group.

As the largest limestone mine in Nanning, the transformation of the Wuming Longmeng Mountain mining area holds a "hardcore code": Facing stringent international standards, the group invested over 11 million yuan to upgrade its production line. It innovatively implemented a "multi-level premium screening and processing system," turning originally rough stone materials into high-end raw materials meeting international standards.

Inside the enterprise workshops of the Ganxu Town (Calcium Carbonate) New Materials Primary Processing Industrial Park in Nanning's Wuming District, nano calcium carbonate powder is being packed and prepared for shipment to the domestic market. It is applied in areas such as new energy vehicle eco-friendly coatings and photovoltaic panel sealants.

Currently, the industrial park has gathered upstream and downstream enterprises led by Guangxi Huana New Materials Co., Ltd., forming the embryonic stage of an industrial chain encompassing "resource mining - primary processing support - deep processing - downstream application." Among them, Guangxi Huana New Materials Co., Ltd. is simultaneously advancing the "Artificial Intelligence +" initiative to empower the high-value-added development of the nano calcium carbonate industrial chain, along with production process upgrades and equipment renovation. This consolidates the company's advantages in high-end markets like new energy vehicle coatings and photovoltaic adhesives. It is also actively expanding into the pharmaceutical and food-grade calcium carbonate sector, moving towards even higher value-added segments.

At present, Nanning's open development landscape continues to expand: The region's first normative document on public data authorization and operation has been issued, an artificial intelligence industry fund with a total scale of 5 billion yuan has been established, and 90 key projects have been successively launched... From the "soft connectivity" of digital content to the "hard support" of physical trade, Nanning is demonstrating the capital's responsibility with a more open posture and more dynamic mechanisms, serving the construction of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
