Stock News06-18

The STAR 50 ETF is experiencing another upward move. As of this report, the Bosera STAR 50 (02832) has risen 4.71% to HK$14.01, the PP STAR 50 (03151) is up 4.31% at HK$13.54, and the CSOP STAR Board 50 (03109) has gained 4.09%, trading at HK$18.59.

By June 18th, the STAR 50 Index had surged over 5% during the session, marking a cumulative gain of more than 15% over four consecutive trading days.

This market activity follows significant news regarding the Science and Technology Innovation Board. It has been one year since the implementation of the board's "1+6" reform package, which has solidified its role as a primary platform for fostering new quality productive forces.

On the anniversary of these reforms, the board is set to receive further major policy enhancements. At the 2026 Lujiazui Forum, CSRC Chairman Wu Qing outlined new reform measures. A key initiative involves expanding the application scope of the fifth set of listing standards to include the artificial intelligence sector, with the aim of actively supporting high-quality large-scale AI model companies in their public listings.

According to Liu Yi, Chief Thematic Strategist at CITIC Securities, the "1+6" reforms represent more than just an increase in the number of listed companies. They signify a strategic shift in capital market support, moving from backing "already profitable tech firms" to also supporting entities representing new quality productive forces that have achieved technological breakthroughs but are still in the commercialization scaling phase.

Previously, Cinda Securities noted that the global semiconductor and AI industry chains are showing a trend toward diversification. Domestic companies are making continuous breakthroughs in areas like CPUs, AI chips, and advanced packaging, highlighting the advantages of a localized supply chain and indicating long-term growth potential in these related fields.
