Ministry of Commerce Criticizes US Export Controls for Disrupting Global Semiconductor Supply Chains

Deep News06-04

China's Ministry of Commerce has voiced strong opposition to the United States' persistent use of national security as a pretext to impose export controls, which it says are harming Chinese firms and destabilizing global semiconductor supply chains.

During a regular press briefing held on June 4, spokesperson He Yongqian addressed questions regarding recent US actions to close what it terms "loopholes" in chip export regulations. He stated that the US's ongoing abuse of export controls under the guise of national security has severely infringed upon the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized that these measures have seriously disrupted the international economic and trade order and have had a significant negative impact on the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain.

The Chinese side has consistently opposed such actions and urges the United States to promptly correct its misguided approach. The Ministry called on the US to cease its discriminatory measures against China and to take concrete steps to safeguard the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
