Shares of Vir Biotechnology Inc. were trading higher in Wednesday's in premarket session following news the company will be joining the S&P SmallCap 600 on April 4.
At 4:20 a.m. EDT, the company's shares were trading 10.1% higher at $24.86 per share. The stock finished the day's regular session Tuesday with a 6.56% gain, closing at $22.58 each.
S&P Dow Jones Indices on Tuesday said Vir Biotechnology would replace Matador Resources on the S&P SmallCap 600. Matador will be moving to the S&P MidCap 400.
