Geekplus to Invest 50 Million Yuan for 20% Strategic Stake in Shenyi

Deep News10-12

Geekplus announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Beijing Geekplus, plans to invest 50 million yuan to acquire a stake in Beijing Shenyi, and upon completion of the transaction, it will hold a 20% equity interest in the latter.

It is reported that Beijing Shenyi is mainly engaged in embodied intelligence technology, robot product research and development, and related technical services, with its current focus on developing an embodied model technology reserve and its implementation in manufacturing scenarios. The core team of Shenyi combines industrial implementation experience with cutting-edge academic backgrounds. CEO Liu Kai personally experienced Geekplus's journey from a startup to a listed company and knows well how to lead a robot company to successful commercialization. The two co-founders, Huang Kangyao and Luo Yu, both hold doctoral degrees from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and are capable of leading the complete chain from models to engineering closed loops.

Through this strategic investment in Shenyi, the board expects that the investment will strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence and embodied model technology; broaden the group's access to specialized technology and research and development resources in the embodied intelligence value chain; promote the development and application of embodied intelligence technology in manufacturing scenarios; create long-term technical cooperation and business synergy opportunities, and allow it to participate in the potential growth of Beijing Shenyi.

Cooperation with Beijing Shenyi Robotics marks an important step for Geekplus in further expanding industrial manufacturing scenarios and advancing the industrial application of embodied intelligence technology. Previously, Shenyi publicly demonstrated a robot completing a 0.1mm-level industrial flexible insertion task and showed stable task execution capabilities under conditions such as lighting changes, visual occlusion, and human interference. The two parties will combine their respective advantages in robot technology and industrial scenarios to jointly explore the large-scale application of embodied intelligence in the industrial manufacturing field.
