Hong Kong Stock Moves: MINTH GROUP (00425) Drops Over 3% Despite Analyst View That Aluminum Price Rise Has Limited Impact on Margins, Battery Case Business Expected to Drive Overall Revenue Growth

Stock News07-28

MINTH GROUP (00425) saw its shares fall more than 3%, trading at HK$26.68 at the time of writing, with a turnover of HK$53.44 million.

Deutsche Bank published a research report noting that despite rising raw material prices such as aluminum, historical performance shows MINTH GROUP has the ability to manage the impact of raw material price fluctuations. During the period of rising aluminum prices from 2020 to 2022, the gross margin of the company's aluminum business still increased from 32.6% to 34%. Management also expects the recent rise in aluminum prices to have a limited impact on the overall gross margin in 2026.

The bank further indicated that the European new energy vehicle market performed strongly in the first half of the year, with new car registrations in Europe up over 6% year-on-year, and pure electric vehicles surging by 35% year-on-year. Considering that the majority of MINTH GROUP's customers are European car manufacturers, the bank expects its aluminum battery case business to be highly correlated with the European electrification trend. As new energy vehicle sales in Europe grow, the bank estimates that MINTH GROUP's battery case business revenue in the first half of the year could increase by 33% year-on-year, driving overall revenue growth of 9% year-on-year.
