On November 6, during the ongoing 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Panasonic Holdings Corporation hosted a strategic launch event on the expo's new product release platform. Tetsuro Homma, Global Vice President of Panasonic Holdings Corporation and Chief Representative for Northeast Asia, delivered a keynote titled "Panasonic's China AI Strategy Asia Debut: Empowering China's Digital Future," marking the first systematic presentation of the company's dual-pillar AI strategy.
Homma emphasized that Panasonic will seize opportunities in China's AI industry development by leveraging the country's vast unified market advantage. Through technological innovation, the company aims to enhance competitiveness and contribute to China's modernization efforts.
Addressing China's booming AI sector and digital economy wave, Panasonic introduced its "Dual Empowerment" strategy—a full-chain value proposition spanning application to industrial layers. The consumer-facing pillar focuses on smart appliances, spaces, and AI-powered services that integrate into daily life and production scenarios. The industrial pillar strengthens AI infrastructure by supplying core components, materials, and supporting equipment for critical computing hardware.
Notably, Panasonic China is implementing an "AI for All" corporate culture, having established a shared AI platform that integrates major models like DeepSeek and Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen into its internal "Uku" system. This system now covers all employee workflows, with plans to expand from basic functional applications to core business scenarios for comprehensive AI enablement.
The company has established three core business pillars: Healthy Smart Living Spaces, Mobility, and Smart Manufacturing. In fiscal 2024, Panasonic's China sales grew 3% year-on-year with profits up 12%. This growth continued in H1 FY2025 (April-September), recording 3% sales growth and 24% profit increase.
Kazuhiro Tsuji, Group CEO of Panasonic Holdings Corporation, stated at CIIE: "Only companies that win in China can succeed globally."
