The wave energy technology company Eco Wave Power Global AB announced on Tuesday that its wave energy solution has once again been featured in the keynote speech by NVIDIA's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, at the GPU Technology Conference. This marks the second consecutive year the company has received this recognition.
During the GTC event, Huang showcased Eco Wave Power's ongoing wave energy project. The project aims to utilize the company's grid-connected wave energy conversion technology to transform ocean wave power into clean electricity. NVIDIA's advanced computing platform is assisting Eco Wave Power in optimizing the layout of its buoy array and energy capture efficiency, using AI models to predict optimal power generation parameters under various sea conditions.
Eco Wave Power's technology employs a unique multi-buoy array structure. Buoys floating on the sea surface move up and down with the waves, driving a hydraulic system that powers a generator. Unlike traditional fixed wave energy devices, the company's system can adapt to tidal changes and automatically avoid extreme waves, thereby enhancing the equipment's lifespan and power generation stability.
Company CEO Inna Braverman stated, "Being mentioned in Mr. Jensen Huang's keynote for two consecutive years is a high recognition of our technological roadmap and engineering capabilities. NVIDIA's AI computing power enables us to simulate and predict complex ocean dynamics with unprecedented precision, significantly accelerating our project deployment process."
The project being advanced in Taiwan is a crucial component of Eco Wave Power's Asia strategy. The company has previously signed agreements with several local partners to jointly advance the permitting, construction, and grid connection work for this wave energy power station. The Taiwan region possesses abundant wave energy resources, making it particularly suitable for Eco Wave Power's shallow-water and nearshore wave energy technology solution.
