Industry sources revealed on Monday that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to visit South Korea this week to meet with leaders of major Korean conglomerates, with the aim of fostering deeper collaboration in artificial intelligence and robotics.
According to the sources, Huang is expected to arrive in Seoul on Thursday evening and begin a series of meetings starting Friday.
Key attendees are anticipated to include SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and NAVER founder and Chairman Lee Hae-jin. Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun is also expected to participate.
Industry analysts suggest the scope of the discussions may extend beyond AI chips to include the emerging fields of robotics and physical AI, which focuses on integrating AI technology with physical devices and real-world systems.
It is reported that Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong will not attend due to overseas travel commitments.
Separate sources indicate that NAVER and NVIDIA are in discussions, with Huang potentially visiting the NAVER 1784 building next Monday.
The 28-story building in Gyeonggi Province, south of Seoul, serves as a testbed for various NAVER technologies, including robotics, cloud computing, and 5G networks.
In March of this year, AMD CEO Lisa Su also visited the site and signed a memorandum of understanding with NAVER for cooperation on AI infrastructure.
