According to a report, an internal memo to staff from Volkswagen AG CEO Oliver Blume indicates the company may need to cut approximately 50,000 more positions based on calculations aimed at aligning its cost competitiveness with other firms.
The memo stated that the company must further reduce costs. Its analysis identified a 20% cost disadvantage compared to peer companies, signifying a theoretical need for a global reduction of 50,000 roles.
