On September 5th, a progress meeting was convened regarding Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.'s collaborative support for Shandong Steel's Rizhao facility and Laiwu operations to summarize work achievements and deploy future tasks. The meeting was attended by Zou Jixin, Standing Committee Member of China Baowu Party Committee and Party Secretary and Chairman of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Wu Bin, General Manager Assistant of China Baowu and General Manager of Baowu Steel Industry Development Department, Zhang Baocai, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Steel Group, Mao Zhanhong, Deputy Party Secretary, Director and General Manager of Shandong Steel Group, Wu Xinjiang, Standing Committee Member of Shandong Steel Group Party Committee, Director and Deputy General Manager, and Wang Xiangdong, Standing Committee Member of Shandong Steel Group Party Committee and Deputy General Manager. The meeting was chaired by Liu Baojun, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.
In his remarks, Zou Jixin noted that since Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. began its collaborative support for Shandong Steel's Rizhao facility and integrated support for Shandong Steel's Laiwu operations, both bases have achieved comprehensive improvements in efficiency and profitability. Moving forward, it is essential to maintain confidence, intensify efforts, and gradually achieve breakthrough transformations from quantitative to qualitative changes. The focus should be on continuously deepening collaborative synergy, addressing current prominent issues, organizing priority project lists, and creating greater collaborative benefits in areas such as blast furnace stable operation, energy efficiency improvement, and logistics cost reduction. There must be deeper transformation in marketing and procurement to achieve real change, increased intensity, and tangible results. The company should maintain a user-centered business philosophy, strengthen market awareness, deeply cultivate user needs, and respond quickly to downstream market changes.
Zhang Baocai, representing Shandong Steel Group and Shandong Steel Co., expressed gratitude to Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. for their dedicated efforts and significant achievements in fully supporting Shandong Steel's Rizhao facility and providing integrated support for Shandong Steel's Laiwu operations. He hoped that both bases would continue firmly on the path of learning, borrowing, and absorbing best practices, maintaining an attitude of "adopting what works" and the principle of "implementability," addressing shortcomings and weaknesses in system construction. They should maintain a sense of crisis at all times, be self-reliant and focus on their own development, fully leverage their primary responsibilities and advantages, and continuously drive improvements in operational performance.
Wu Bin emphasized the importance of persisting in system capability building and enhancement, with value creation as the core, focusing on product operations and manufacturing capability improvement, based on talent development, using simulated operations as a tool, and efficiency improvement as key. This approach should consolidate comprehensive operational responsibilities, continue cost reduction and efficiency improvement, enhance core competitiveness, and strive for greater achievements.
Mao Zhanhong stated that they would seize the important opportunity of Shandong Steel's focused support for main business and Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.'s collaborative support. With greater determination and more practical measures, they would be proactive and take initiative to comprehensively deepen integrated collaborative support, deeply integrating Baowu's system advantages, technological advantages, and management advantages with Shandong Steel's regional advantages, resource advantages, and industrial foundation to drive Shandong Steel's advancement in industry rankings.
During the meeting, the two bases of Shandong Steel reported on the overall situation of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.'s collaborative support for Shandong Steel's Rizhao facility and integrated support for Shandong Steel's Laiwu operations. Special reports were presented by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.'s Raw Materials Procurement Center, Marketing Center (Baosteel International), Shandong Steel's Operations Improvement Department, Shandong Steel Group Rizhao Company's Finance Department, Manufacturing Management Department, and Iron-making Plant.
