Bulletin Express09-23 17:41

APT Electronics released its 2026 interim results, posting revenue of RMB 1.08 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, down 3.00% year on year. A net loss of RMB 56.31 million contrasted with the prior-year profit of RMB 11.23 million.

Key Financials • Revenue: RMB 1.08 billion (-3.0% YoY) • Gross profit: RMB 129.95 million • Net loss: RMB 56.31 million • Operating cash outflow: RMB 42.20 million • Cash and cash equivalents: RMB 214.47 million • Interest-bearing bank borrowings: RMB 721.83 million; gearing ratio 57.8% • Capital expenditure: RMB 230.40 million

Segment Performance • Advanced Display revenue climbed 34.80% to RMB 477.97 million, driven by Mini LED and rapid scale-up of RGB Mini LED shipments, raising its contribution to 44.3% of group turnover. • Intelligent Automotive Vision revenue fell 14.50% to RMB 357.91 million. Complete lamp sales declined 29.50%, but automotive-grade LED devices and modules grew 27.80%, gaining share. • High-End Lighting revenue contracted 28.40% to RMB 243.14 million amid intensified market competition.

Margin Pressure Management attributed the swing to loss to: 1. Unit-price erosion in automotive and lighting markets amid industry-wide price competition. 2. Higher pre-production outlays for the new Lynway Vision Greater Bay Area headquarters. 3. Increased raw-material costs, notably precious metals and PCB substrates.

Balance Sheet Highlights Total assets reached RMB 3.56 billion, up 15.30% from end-2025, driven by ongoing capacity expansion in advanced display and automotive products. Non-current liabilities rose 72.30% to RMB 517.17 million after additional long-term bank borrowings for the new Guangzhou facility. Net current assets stood at RMB 31.65 million.

Capital Deployment • Invested RMB 268.00 million (7.5% of total assets) in Guangzhou Tianze Jingxin Venture Investment Fund, targeting semiconductor and IC opportunities. • Contracted but unutilised capital commitments totalled RMB 144.19 million, mainly for new plant and equipment. • Net proceeds of HK$79.04 million from the November 2024 IPO: 84% allocated to production expansion and R&D; HK$3.98 million remains to be deployed by end-2026.

Research & Development The patent portfolio reached 462 granted patents, including 141 inventions, underpinning ongoing work in: • Ten-thousand-pixel Micro LED light sources and projection headlamps. • Mini/Micro LED display modules for televisions, automotive HUD and AR/AI applications. • High-power, high-efficiency LED devices for outdoor, horticultural and special-purpose lighting.

Corporate Actions and Governance • No interim dividend declared; a final dividend of RMB 0.40 per 10 shares for FY 2025 (RMB 21.49 million) was paid on 21 August 2026. • The Board approved a plan to convert 21.71 million domestic shares (4.04% of total) into H-shares under the full-circulation scheme, pending regulatory clearance. • No share repurchases or significant M&A activity occurred during the period.

Outlook Management reiterated its focus on high-growth niches in intelligent automotive vision, advanced display and third-generation semiconductors, supported by continued investment in AI-enabled manufacturing and expanded R&D. While near-term margins remain under pressure, the scaled ramp-up of Mini and Micro LED technologies and global automotive supply opportunities are expected to underpin long-term growth.
