Academician Ni Guangnan: Semiconductor Industry No Longer Dominated by Advanced Process Nodes

At the 2026 Xuantie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference held today, Ni Guangnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the RVEI War Committee of China Electronics Standardization Institute, stated that the semiconductor industry is no longer a landscape dominated solely by advanced process nodes. Instead, it is demonstrating new characteristics of multiple technological pathways developing in parallel.

Ni Guangnan particularly emphasized, "Under the strategic guidance of the nation's vigorous promotion of technological innovation and open-source innovation, we are providing Chinese solutions for the diversified development of the global semiconductor industry."

He specifically mentioned that, with advantages such as modularity, low power consumption, customizability, and security, RISC-V can better meet diverse strategic needs.
