Leveraging the China-ASEAN Expo Platform: Local Enterprises Strengthen Economic and Trade Collaboration with ASEAN Partners

Deep News09:30

At the recently concluded 23rd China-ASEAN Expo, local efforts centered on several targeted matchmaking sessions to precisely expand cooperation channels with ASEAN nations. Anchored by three key economic and trade events, local businesses engaged in face-to-face discussions and point-to-point negotiations with ASEAN counterparts, driving precise alignment of supply and demand while a batch of intended cooperation projects now moves toward implementation.

On September 17, participation in the Hebei-ASEAN Regional Economic Cooperation Special Matchmaking Session took place. The Municipal Commerce Bureau delivered a dedicated presentation under the theme "Green Charm of Chengde, Supply Chain Linking ASEAN," organizing nine companies—including Chengde Shanshui, Ruitai Food, and Gugu Xiang—to showcase over 50 specialty products. On-site connections were facilitated with ASEAN business associations, overseas buyers, and investors, building a bridge for supply-demand exchanges.

On September 18, the Chengde-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation Business Association Symposium was held. The Municipal Commerce Bureau, jointly with the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Municipal Investment Promotion Center, organized ten key enterprises—such as Yujin Agricultural Development Group and Xin'ao Food—to participate in the exhibition. In-depth discussions were conducted with ASEAN national business associations based in China, overseas industry associations, and representatives from the Nanning Chengde Chamber of Commerce. Cooperation entry points were explored across equipment manufacturing, specialty agricultural products, and environmental technology projects, while efforts advanced toward establishing a regular cooperation liaison mechanism facing ASEAN.

On September 19, local enterprises were organized to attend the Vietnam Economic and Trade Special Session and the International Comprehensive Procurement Matchmaking Session hosted by the Guangxi Expo Bureau. Using a model of "one-on-one rotating negotiations plus AI intelligent matching," 12 companies were matched for point-to-point business talks with enterprises from Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and other ASEAN nations, covering specialty categories such as nuts, sea buckthorn products, mushroom goods, dried fruit and candied fruit, along with high-tech industry projects. Among these, eight companies reached preliminary cooperation intentions, completed sample shipments, and established stable communication channels, laying a solid foundation for subsequent project implementation.

The exhibition was divided into two segments: the Hebei Image Exhibition Zone and supporting displays for special events, comprehensively promoting Chengde's premium industries and specialty products. In coordination with the Provincial Commerce Department, local efforts supported the organization of the Chengde section within the Hebei Image Exhibition at the expo's main venue. Two enterprises—Chengde Yuhangren Alpine Plant Application Technology Co., Ltd. and Chengde Zhiqiang Food Technology Co., Ltd.—were selected for the provincial-level image exhibition zone, showcasing Chengde's industrial characteristics of "green, ecological, and high-end."

At the Hebei-ASEAN Regional Economic Cooperation Special Session and the Chengde-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation Business Association Symposium, enterprises including Yujin Agricultural Development Group, Juyuan Food, and Xin'ao Food displayed over 60 types of ecological agricultural products—hawthorn, almonds, sea buckthorn, mushrooms, and rice—among others. Through on-site tasting and product presentations, the visibility and influence of Chengde's regional brand in the ASEAN market were continuously elevated.

Through participation in these three key matchmaking sessions, local enterprises established direct connections with ASEAN business partners, and a batch of intended cooperation projects is now being followed up for implementation. By engaging with institutions such as the Malaysia Hebei General Chamber of Commerce, the Guangxi Expo Bureau, and the Nanning Chengde Chamber of Commerce, regular communication channels were established, reinforcing the foundation for green food and cultural tourism wellness industries to explore the ASEAN market, expand outward investment, and attract foreign capital into Chengde. Meanwhile, through dedicated presentations, exhibition displays, and on-site tastings, the region's ecological agricultural products and advantageous industrial resources were showcased, effectively promoting the "green and ecological" industrial label and creating favorable conditions for Chengde's specialty brands to deepen their presence in the ASEAN market and expand economic and trade cooperation.
