Former Moutai Chairman Zhang Deqin Appears at Guizhou Liquor Expo

Zhang Deqin, the former chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., was spotted at the 15th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo held in Guiyang on September 12. Videos shared by attendees show Zhang interacting with visitors and taking group photos at the event.

According to attendees, Zhang appears to still be closely following the Guizhou sauce-flavored liquor sector, though he departed quickly after brief conversations, accompanied by just one staff member. His low-key presence drew attention given his recent career transition.

On October 26 last year, the Guizhou Provincial People's Government announced a recommendation that Zhang step down from his roles as chairman and director of Kweichow Moutai Group, as well as chairman and director of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. Subsequently, on December 9, the official website of the Guizhou Federation of Industry and Commerce listed Zhang in its "Leadership Window" section, confirming his new appointment as deputy secretary of the party leading group of the federation, where he oversees the membership department and economic department.
