According to a recent report, the job market in 2025 has seen increasing competition, with the talent supply-demand ratio in the new economy sector rising to 2.23, meaning 2.23 candidates vie for each job opening. However, since June 2025, the number of new job postings in the sector has surpassed last year's levels, signaling a gradual recovery in the hiring market, particularly in AI-related roles. From January to October 2025, new AI job postings surged by 543% year-on-year, with September alone witnessing an 11-fold increase.
XPeng Inc. led all companies with an AI penetration rate of 19.32% in new job postings, meaning one in every five new roles was AI-related. As the job market rebounds, professionals are showing less risk aversion. The proportion of employees reporting "no change" in their career status dropped from 45.30% in 2023 to 40.51% this year, while those "actively resigning" rose significantly to 21.13%, up 8 percentage points from 2023 and 2 points from 2024.
Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou remained the top five cities for new job postings, while Chongqing entered the top ten for the first time, replacing Xi'an. Algorithm engineers and large model algorithm roles topped the list of most-posted jobs, with AI product managers, large model algorithms, and robotics algorithms seeing the highest growth in new postings. High-performance computing engineers faced the tightest talent supply, with a supply-demand ratio of 0.31 (three job openings per candidate), followed by SLAM algorithms at 0.38.
Among the top 20 highest-paying roles, with average monthly salaries exceeding ¥60,000, AI R&D positions dominated. AI scientists earned an average of over ¥127,000 per month. The "AI premium" was evident: AIGC algorithm engineers earned nearly 18% more than regular algorithm engineers, while AI product managers outearned their non-AI counterparts by 20%.
ByteDance led in both overall and AI-related job postings, while Dreame saw the highest growth in new postings (over 300%). XPeng Inc. maintained the highest AI job penetration rate at 19.32%, reinforcing the sector's rapid expansion.
