Sichuan province has secured 17 positions on a national list of exemplary metaverse cases, ranking third in the country and first in central and western China. The selection includes five cases in the digital human category, 11 in the product category, and one in the industrial park category.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, along with three other government bodies, recently released the 2025 Metaverse Typical Cases List, which features 193 entries nationwide. The 17 cases from Sichuan originate from seven cities and prefectures, including Chengdu, Mianyang, and Luzhou.
Notable selections include Chengdu Jiuzhou Electronic Information System Co., Ltd.'s "Yuanqi" intelligent interactive digital human and Sichuan Daily Press Group's digital reporter for Chuanguan News, both in the digital human category. In the product category, entries include Yingmu Technology's all-in-one AI+AR smart glasses IN MO AIR3 and Changhong Jiahua Information Products' application of virtual reality in immersive multi-user industrial design and verification visualization.
Additionally, the Jinjiang Economic Development Zone's "Metaverse+AIGC" industrial base was recognized as a typical park case.
Sichuan's 15th Five-Year Plan outlines the metaverse as a key future industry for accelerated cultivation. In recent years, the province has focused on policy guidance, technological innovation, application scenarios, and ecosystem development to advance the metaverse sector from planning to implementation, establishing itself as a pivotal force driving metaverse growth in central and western China.
According to a relevant official from the Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, Sichuan's metaverse industry is currently entering a critical phase of technological breakthroughs, scenario expansion, and ecosystem maturation. Moving forward, the province will deepen its industrial layout, strengthen technological innovation and application empowerment, and promote the integration of the metaverse with artificial intelligence, computing networks, and digital security. These efforts aim to establish Sichuan as a national hub for the metaverse industry and provide robust support for the development of Digital Sichuan.
