Lianyungang's Haizhou District Nurtures Sci-Tech SMEs with Record Growth

Deep News12-05

Haizhou District in Lianyungang has achieved remarkable results in cultivating sci-tech SMEs in 2025, with 709 enterprises applying for recognition and 640 approved—both record highs. The approved companies hold 707 Class I and 6,821 Class II intellectual property rights, representing year-on-year growth of 44.88% and 33.09%, respectively, marking breakthroughs in both quantity and quality.

Aligned with national innovation-driven development strategies, Haizhou has established a comprehensive incubation chain spanning maker spaces, incubators, accelerators, and industrial parks. Over 100 new enterprises have settled in platforms like Wuxi's "Innovation Enclave" and the Digital Technology Building. The district has also identified 800 potential enterprises for targeted cultivation through categorized tracking systems.

To address development bottlenecks, the district's science and technology bureau established service liaison points, offering one-on-one expert guidance throughout the application process. Financial support measures include securing 157 million yuan in sci-tech loans for 40 companies like Fuyuan Debang and disbursing over 10 million yuan in matching subsidies benefiting 200+ enterprises.

Notable collaborations include 119 sci-tech SMEs partnering with universities like Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, with 76 "technology vice presidents" introduced. Sixty-five SMEs have applied for high-tech enterprise status for the first time this year.

Lianyungang Yuanyang Power Auxiliary Equipment Co. exemplifies this growth, holding 8 patents and 7 software copyrights. Its patented vacuum deaerator has been exported to over 10 countries, with projected annual revenue increases following new product trials. Similarly, Lianyungang Hanhe Modern Agricultural Service Co. has developed drone-based precision farming solutions and bio-based additives, creating integrated service models that boost agricultural efficiency.

Moving forward, Haizhou will intensify policy support and innovation guidance to transform more SMEs into technological pioneers, continuously injecting sci-tech momentum into regional productivity development.
