Preservation of Capital rule would prevent investing in both $Ford(F)$and $Rivian Automotive, Inc.(RIVN)$.  Wait for an uptrend before considering both.

A feel good writeup that tugs at your heart; without you realizing that its a death trap. Quote : Compared to Rivian’s 63% decline in 2022, Ford’s 26% drop doesn’t seem nearly as bad. It could be worse. Detroit rival General Motors (NYSE:GM) is down 31% YTD Unquote. Wonder if any investor wouldn't mind if their investment have fallen by 26%, 31%, 63%; for me i will freak out. How much time is required for them to get back into the Green ? More importantly, EV production is not running at optimum capacity yet. Need to wait until EU & Chinese EVs flood the US market then panic ?  By then it might be a tad too late ?
