Marqeta shares popped more than 12% in premarket trading.

Marqeta enables companies like DoorDash and Affirm to build out highly specialized payments capabilities.

Affirm Holdings Inc said on last Friday it has partnered with Amazon.com Inc to make its buy now, pay later service available to certain customers of the e-commerce giant.

Affirm uses Marqeta to issue virtual cards for last mile financing, as well as card control by restricting funds by merchant, dollar amount, and time.
