Agricultural Department Conducts Pre-Holiday Food Safety Inspections

Deep News02-13

The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently organized supervisory inspections on the quality and safety of agricultural products ahead of the holiday period. The inspections combined random spot checks with targeted verifications, covering seven key counties and districts including Xining, Haidong, and Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Officials conducted on-site inspections of county-level testing institutions and over 20 vegetable and livestock production entities. By reviewing certificates of compliance, pesticide and veterinary drug usage logs, production records, and inspecting storage facilities and production environments, the team assessed the implementation of regulatory measures and accountability systems. The inspections aimed to ensure effective supervision and guarantee the supply and safety of agricultural products during the Spring Festival. Findings indicated that all regions strictly adhered to quality and safety requirements, with county-level testing agencies actively fulfilling their duties and enhancing detection capabilities. The frequency of random inspections on market-bound products increased, and risk-based differentiated management was applied to production entities. Most producers demonstrated strong accountability, properly storing and securing agricultural chemicals, and issuing standardized compliance certificates for each batch of products to ensure quality and safety from the source.
