On November 27, 2025, LEAPMOTOR (09863) unveiled its new strategic model, the Lafa5, under the theme "Define Your Own Road." Positioned as a "high-performance electric coupe," the vehicle boasts five core features: a 605km extended range, Qualcomm 8295P-powered smart cabin, LiDAR-enabled end-to-end assisted driving, coupe styling, and an 86% space utilization rate, offering Generation Z consumers an affordable "dream car" option.
The Lafa5 comes in five variants with two range options (515km and 605km). A limited-time cash discount of ¥5,000 is available until December 31, 2025, bringing the promotional price down to ¥92,800–116,800. Additional launch benefits include lifetime warranty, customization funds, and financing policies worth up to ¥24,900.
LEAPMOTOR reported a Q3 2025 net profit of ¥150 million, with revenue surging 100% YoY to ¥19.45 billion. The company has maintained its position as China's top-selling NEV brand for eight consecutive months since March 2025, achieving its annual sales target of 500,000 units ahead of schedule, including 44,000 overseas deliveries across 35 countries. LEAPMOTOR now aims for 1 million annual sales by 2026.
The Lafa5 challenges the ¥100K EV segment by offering premium features typically found in ¥200K models. Designed with global markets—particularly Europe—in mind, it will compete with established models like the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Renault Mégane. Its "Tech-Nature Aesthetics" design includes frameless doors, a 0.256 drag coefficient, and six vibrant color options.
The cabin features an 86% space utilization rate, 256-color ambient lighting, and premium materials. Powered by Qualcomm 8295P and dual AI systems (DeepSeek and Tongyi Qianwen), it supports voice control and customizable shortcut buttons. Advanced driver-assistance systems include LiDAR-based navigation without HD maps.
Co-developed with Stellantis, the chassis balances European-style handling with Chinese comfort preferences. The rear-wheel-drive model accelerates 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds, with an 18-minute fast-charging capability (30–80% SOC). Safety highlights include a 77.5% high-strength steel body and battery technology that prevents thermal runaway for 48 hours.
The Lafa5 marks LEAPMOTOR's strategic push into global markets, combining premium performance at an accessible price point while setting new standards for the ¥100K electric coupe segment.
