On April 22, JD LOGISTICS officially launched a special lychee support plan, focusing on coordination across Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan provinces. The initiative introduces five key upgrades: faster delivery times, full-process temperature control, nationwide warehousing, dedicated services, and preferential pricing for farmers. These measures aim to make shipping more affordable and convenient for growers and merchants while enabling consumers across the country to enjoy fresh lychees as soon as possible.
As a core logistics provider for lychee distribution, JD LOGISTICS has years of experience in the industry. In 2025, with support from JD LOGISTICS, lychee sales from Guangdong on JD’s platform saw significant growth. During the launch event, JD LOGISTICS partnered with several local lychee merchants in Guangdong and was honored as a "High-Quality Lychee Logistics Service Provider" by the Guangdong Express Delivery Industry Association.
To ensure more Lingnan fruits are delivered fresh nationwide, JD LOGISTICS has further enhanced its lychee support plan this year. The company has increased the number of collection points in orchards and deployed autonomous vehicles and refrigerated trucks to transport lychees quickly to origin warehouses and cold storage facilities for pre-cooling and freshness locking. Utilizing an integrated transportation network that includes air freight, high-speed rail, and dedicated cold chain routes, lychees from core production areas can reach major cities across China within 24 hours, achieving the goal of "harvested at night, on the table by morning."
Leveraging its integrated supply chain capabilities, JD LOGISTICS will also assist growers and merchants in establishing a nationwide warehousing system to reduce transit times. Through a newly established coordination mechanism linking Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan, the company will optimize shared cold chain transportation resources. Combined with a three-stage temperature control model—"origin pre-cooling + full-process cold chain + express delivery"—the plan ensures freshness from source to destination.
In Guangdong, a major lychee production region, JD LOGISTICS will implement methods such as direct shipping routes, airport express delivery, and dedicated cold chain lines to meet the delivery and cost requirements of growers and merchants of varying scales. Additionally, the setup of exclusive lychee shipping sites, along with new mobile sorting vehicles and aviation sorting centers, will significantly improve sorting efficiency.
In Maoming, JD LOGISTICS plans to adopt a "drone + origin warehouse" model to overcome logistics challenges in the "first mile" of lychee distribution. Beyond speed and freshness, the company is introducing multiple measures to reduce costs and increase incomes for growers. These include forming specialized service teams to provide one-stop claims processing, optimizing delivery routes to lower logistics expenses, and offering farmer-friendly pricing to support lychee growers.
Furthermore, JD LOGISTICS has collaborated with the China Lychee Museum to release a fresh lychee availability map for the Lingnan region and is working with JD Retail on direct sourcing activities from production areas. These efforts aim to strengthen the regional brand of Lingnan lychees and expand sales channels.
Supported by a comprehensive logistics network that covers the entire country, including rural areas, JD LOGISTICS currently serves over 1,000 local production zones nationwide and has established agricultural product collection points in more than 2,600 remote townships. This infrastructure provides solid support for distributing lychees, cherries, and other agricultural products from villages to cities.
