NVIDIA's Chief Executive Officer, Jensen Huang, has stated that the three major memory chip manufacturers have been certified to supply the most advanced high-bandwidth memory chips for NVIDIA's AI accelerators.
This decision signifies that SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Micron Technology (MU) are poised to commence large-scale production and supply of HBM4 chips. These three companies dominate the global memory chip market and have been fiercely competing for a share of this business.
Speaking to reporters upon arriving in Seoul for a multi-day visit, Huang noted that all three suppliers have passed certification and are already in production, racing to support NVIDIA's latest AI chip, Vera Rubin.
Huang is scheduled to host a dinner for some major Korean suppliers on Friday and will attend a baseball game over the weekend.
