Deep News08-24

On August 24th, the Green Mining Ten Thousand Miles Journey (Hegang Station) conference and the meeting on accelerating the development of China's advantageous minerals into strategic emerging industries was held in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, located in China's northern frontier. The China Mining Association officially unveiled and named Luobei County in Hegang City as "China's Graphite City".

Graphite serves as an indispensable key raw material for strategic emerging industries including new energy, new materials, electronic information, aerospace, and defense military applications. It is hailed as the "strategic resource supporting high-tech development in the 21st century."

Luobei County in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, represents a significant concentration area for China's graphite resources. The county possesses the world's largest single-body crystalline graphite mine - the Yunshan Graphite Mining Area, earning the reputation as "Asia's First Mine."

In recent years, with continuous upgrades in global industrial structure and rapid development of high-tech industries such as new energy vehicles, energy storage, and electronic information, market demand for graphite has grown rapidly.

Cheng Liwei, Party Secretary and President of the China Mining Association, stated that Luobei County's graphite resource reserves and crystalline graphite production both account for nearly half of China's total, holding a pivotal position. This designation not only recognizes Luobei County's graphite industry but also marks an important direction and guidance for China's transformation from a major mining country to a mining powerhouse.

During the conference, the National Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resource Prediction signed an agreement with China Minmetals National Strategic Rare Metal Mineral Efficient Development Technology Innovation Center to jointly establish a "Joint Technology Research and Development and Demonstration Center."
