RoboSense (ROBOSENSE) reported unaudited first-quarter 2026 revenue of RMB 458.75 million, rising 39.9 % year on year from RMB 327.84 million. The growth was driven by a 204.1 % increase in total LiDAR shipments to about 330,300 units.
Revenue mix and margins • Products contributed RMB 441.12 million, up 45.9 % and accounting for 96 % of total sales. • Solutions and services generated RMB 17.63 million, versus RMB 25.55 million a year earlier. • Gross profit expanded 29.3 % to RMB 99.60 million, while the gross margin declined to 21.7 % from 23.5 %, reflecting initial overheads for new EMX LiDAR production.
Profitability • Operating loss narrowed to RMB 76.59 million from RMB 121.04 million. • Net loss attributable to shareholders decreased 35.5 % to RMB 64.22 million. • Adjusted net loss (excluding RMB 19.41 million in share-based payments) improved to RMB 43.91 million from RMB 90.69 million.
Segment performance • LiDAR for ADAS: 144,800 units shipped, up 49.7 %. • LiDAR for robotics and other applications: 185,500 units, up 1,458.8 %. Robotics now represents 56.2 % of total volume. • Total design wins for mass production reached 177 vehicle models across 36 OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers; start-of-production achieved for 69 models. • The ADAS order backlog exceeded 9 million units.
Balance sheet and liquidity • Total assets stood at RMB 5.21 billion as of 31 March 2026, with equity of RMB 3.70 billion and liabilities of RMB 1.51 billion. • Cash, cash equivalents, time deposits and restricted cash totaled approximately RMB 2.60 billion. • Net operating cash outflow reduced to RMB 89.20 million from RMB 462.90 million a year earlier.
Strategic and product developments • Cumulative deliveries of fully solid-state digital LiDAR E-platform products (E1/E1R) surpassed 300,000 units by mid-April 2026, the highest in China’s LiDAR market. • The company launched the “Eocene” SPAD-SoC digital architecture and introduced two in-house chips—Phoenix (2,160 lines, AEC-Q100 qualified) and Peacock (VGA-level 3D imaging). Mass production of both chips is scheduled for 2H 2026. • RoboSense LiDAR was installed on 42.3 % of LiDAR-equipped vehicles displayed at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show and serves more than 40 automotive brands covering 80+ models. • Robotics partnerships expanded, including elevated collaboration with Navimow and ongoing projects with Roborock; the company remains listed in Morgan Stanley’s Global Top 100 Humanoid Robot Value Chain.
Management outlook The company reiterated confidence in gradual margin recovery during 2026, citing higher second-half vehicle launches, growing robotics demand, chip cost optimization and improved capacity utilization. RoboSense aims to consolidate its position as a leading physical-AI sensor platform through continued investment in R&D—RMB 162.75 million in Q1, up 12.3 % year on year—and by advancing fully digital LiDAR technologies for automotive and robotic markets.
