At the International Investors Conference of the Shanghai Stock Exchange on November 12, Zhang Chenguang, Head of Sustainable Development at Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd., shared the company's practices in ensuring supply chain security, product quality, and addressing climate change.
Zhang emphasized that Yili prioritizes quality as its corporate creed, establishing a "Three-Line Standard" quality system. This system sets management standards 50% stricter than national benchmarks, with an additional 20% uplift for internal control, ensuring comprehensive product quality and supply chain safety.
For instance, each dairy cow is equipped with an electronic ID for traceable health records, while transport vehicles feature GPS tracking and electronic sealing systems, enabling 24/7 monitoring to guarantee milk source safety. In tackling climate change, Yili actively promotes low-carbon product innovation. In 2024, the company launched "Classic Zero-Carbon Organic Milk," certified by both Chinese and EU organic standards. The product’s supply chain at Classic Ranch reduces CO2 emissions by 20% through organic fertilizer recycling and renewable energy adoption. Sustainable forest-certified packaging materials, unbleached coatings, and reduced ink usage further minimize its carbon footprint.
Zhang noted that this low-carbon organic milk serves as a green bridge between Yili and younger consumers, strengthening brand trust and expanding eco-friendly market share. He reiterated Yili’s commitment to innovation and responsible practices to support China’s "3060" carbon neutrality goal, achieving dual growth in brand value and sustainability.
